Anti-Aging Treatments with
Botox & Dysport
Cosmetically, we use neuromodulator treatments (i.e. Botox, Dysport) to relax the muscles in the face that create fine lines and wrinkles and to prevent any further deepening of facial wrinkles. Regular usage promotes a rejuvenated and youthful appearance. Neuromodulator treatments are often referred to as a “lunchtime treatment” because it is a quick and easy procedure, requiring no downtime.
Botox & Dysport can be used in a multitude of areas including:
Using neurotoxins for frown lines is a great way to reduce the look of tension or anger in the frown (glabella) area. The glabella muscle complex is located between the eyebrows and above the nose. Neurotoxin treatment effectively blocks this dynamic muscle group and softens the vertical creases or furrows playfully known as the "elevens."
The crow’s feet are wrinkles found in the outer corner of the eyes. Crow’s feet look can be more prominent as they are caused by a deeper set of muscles under the skin. The most common causes of crow’s feet include UV sun exposure and the loss of skin elasticity that occurs naturally with the aging process. Neurotoxin treatment in this area relaxes the muscle that surrounds the corners of the eyes resulting in a smoother appearance.
Neurotoxin injections throughout the forehead help to relax and smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles in this area, creating an exceptionally youthful and rested appearance.
The nasalis “bunny” lines are the fine wrinkles that appear on the sides of your nose when you scrunch up your nose, laugh or smile big. The lines appear straight or even diagonally on both sides of your nose just underneath the bridge. Neurotoxin injections in this area, relax the muscles and eliminate the lines.
The gummy smile is a condition where the upper gum line features prominently when smiling. An example of this is when a person smiles broadly and you see a large portion of their gums. Gummy smiles can happen for a variety of reasons, but it is most commonly caused by a short upper lip. Other reasons include small teeth and excessive gum tissue. Neurotoxins injected directly into the “elevator” muscle of the upper lip, which then weakens the muscle’s ability to flip up and raise too high when actively smiling. This, in turn, prevents an over exposure of the gum line.
DROOPING NASAL TIP
The depressor septi is an active muscle directly beneath the nasal septum that can pull the tip of the nose downward and shortens the upper lip on animation. It is even more active during smiling and talking. To reverse this effect, neurotoxin is injected just under the nose to lift the tip of the nose.
The “Botox Lip Flip” is the latest injectable trend. The lip flip is a cosmetic injectable treatment that shapes the lip slightly outward to create a fuller, more shapely lip. It is used as a standalone treatment or can be added with lip filler for more fullness.
CHIN DIMPLING (MENTALIS)
Some people wrinkle their chins either at rest or while talking, this results in lines caused by contractions of the mentalist muscle. These lines are also commonly referred to as chin dimples or “chin-u-lite” (think cellulite). Injecting neurotoxin in the mentalis muscle results in the softening of any of the dimpling creases.
The masseters are two bulky muscles located on each side of your jaw. This procedure is very effective at alleviating TMJ pain and aesthetically slims the lower face.
NEFERTITI NECK LIFT (PLATYSMAL BANDS)
The Nefertiti neck lift is a technique used by an experienced practitioner placing multiple injections of neurotoxin underneath the jawline and down the side of the neck on top of the platysma muscle. This procedure improves the definition of the jawline by rebalancing the underlying muscles and providing a lift to the jaw and neck area.
